Machine Base and Supports

The machine base is a cellular steel weldment that has been stressed relieved and machined for accuracy. The supports and carriage are made from strong vibration resistant castings assuring high accuracy and longevity. Using the lates design techniques to assure long lasting accuracy.

The grinding carriage has easy access to the working area with splash guards to contain coolant spray and grinding chips. A brilliant, sealed LED work lamp aluminates the working interior of the machine.

Grinding Motor and Spindle:

A precision spindle with a sealed and dust proof design, two front set of precision angular thrust bearings and one back bearing. The base model comes with a powerful 10-hp grinding motor at 1800 rpm

Grinding Wheels:

One standard grinding wheel flange is supplied with the machine. It will accept both CBN and conventional bonded grinding wheels. Wheel size: 255 x 50 x 193mm w/ eight treaded inserts. Please let us know your primary application for wheel recommendations.

Automatic Central Lubrication:

The machine is lubricated automatically to all slide ways, screws and critical surfaces. Lubrication is adjustable from the pump. Standard way lubricant is supplied with the machine.

Coolant System

A large coolant tank separates the dirty coolant from the supply pump via a dammed partition. A powerful 1/4-hp supply pump delivers coolant to the grinding wheel and washdown hose (Washdown hose in the machine bed). Filtration options are available.

Mitsubishi Color HMI:

Our proprietary operating software is controlled via PLC and servos in all axes. The Mitsubishi HMI is an easy to operate touch screen display. Key features as follows:

1. Easy to navigate large color LCD display

2. MPG hand wheel with two feed rate options

3. Fully automatic grind cycle with jog, rough, fine and spark-out feeds.

4. Preset grinding amounts and feed rates with exact repeatability

X-Axis Carriage Traverse:

Mitsubishi variable servo drive and high precision linear guide ways. The servo drive allows for accurately repeatable auto grinding cycles. The operator set the speeds via the HMI. Carriage speed rate: 3 ~ 30m /min. Upon completion of the grind cycle the carriage will spark-out and park when finished.

Z-Axis Down Feed:

Mitsubishi variable servo drive and high precision linear guide ways. The motor is equipped with a break and encoder and allows for accurate auto cycles, feed selection is rough, medium and spark-out. The carriage will park when the cycle is finished. Feed Rater: 0.005mm

Electric Cabinet:

The electric cabinet is a compact sealed design, attached to the machine and equipped with an air conditioner. Assembled to international code and supplied with clear electric schematics.
