The Nicholson 27" A7 is a high-speed ring debarker designed for demanding sawmill and log-processing applications. Equipped with an air seal ring, this machine is especially well suited for high-production small-log lines, with typical feed speeds in the 300–350 FPM range or faster on small logs.

The Nicholson air seal system allows variable knife-arm pressure while the debarking ring is in operation, giving the operator control over debarking pressure and the ability to open or close the tool arms during debarking. Nicholson literature describes these variable-pressure Air Seal rings as allowing adjustment of debarking pressure while the machine is running.

Built around Nicholson’s proven rotating ring design, the A7 uses carbide-tipped tool arms to remove bark at the cambium layer while minimizing fiber loss.
